Terms of Service

These terms govern your use of the OfficeSwap iPhone app ("OfficeSwap", "the app", "we", "us"). By downloading or using the app, you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, don't use the app.

1. What OfficeSwap does

OfficeSwap helps an organization share offices. Office owners can offer their office on days they're away. People without an office can request one for specific days. The app assigns offered offices to requests automatically, in the order requests were made, and keeps a waitlist of requests it can't fill yet.

2. Who can use it

You may use OfficeSwap only if your organization allows you to. You must be old enough to form a binding contract where you live, and at least 13 years old. If you register an organization, you confirm that you're authorized to do so on its behalf and that the office address you give is accurate.

3. Access codes

Each organization has an access code. Anyone who has the code can open and change that organization's schedule. Share it only with people who should have access, and keep it private. You're responsible for activity that happens under your organization's code.

4. Your content

You're responsible for what you enter in the app, including names, office details, dates and notes. By entering it, you confirm that:

• the information is accurate;
• you have permission to enter other people's names and details;
• it doesn't include sensitive personal information, such as health details;
• it isn't unlawful, harassing, defamatory or misleading.

You keep ownership of your content. You allow us to store, copy and display it only as needed to run the app, including saving it to your organization's shared Google Sheet as described in the Privacy Policy.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• access an organization's schedule without permission;
• make false requests or offers, or change or cancel other people's entries without their permission;
• interfere with the app or its connection to Google services, or try to get around its limits;
• copy, reverse engineer or resell the app, except where the law allows it;
• use the app in a way that breaks the law or your organization's policies.

6. Office assignments

OfficeSwap is a scheduling aid. Assignments depend on the information people enter and may change, for example when an owner withdraws an offer or when entries from different phones are combined. We don't guarantee that an office will be available, assigned, or free of other people when you arrive. Your organization's own workplace, facilities and security rules always come first, and your organization decides who may use which office.

7. Third-party services

OfficeSwap stores shared schedules in Google Sheets and is distributed through Apple's App Store. Those services are provided by Google and Apple under their own terms, and we aren't responsible for them. If a service is unavailable, the app may not sync or match correctly until it's restored.

8. Apple App Store terms

If you got OfficeSwap from the App Store, these terms are between you and us, not Apple. Apple isn't responsible for the app or its content, and has no obligation to provide support or maintenance for it. Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies. Where it conflicts with these terms, these terms control to the extent allowed. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you.

9. Ownership of the app

The app, its design, name and logo belong to us and our licensors. We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the app on Apple devices you own or control, under these terms.

10. Changes and ending access

We may change, pause or stop the app, or any feature, at any time. We may suspend or end access for anyone who breaks these terms. You can stop using the app at any time by deleting it.

11. Disclaimer

THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE", WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DON'T PROMISE THAT THE APP WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE OR SECURE, OR THAT ITS DATA WILL BE ACCURATE OR COMPLETE.

12. Limitation of liability

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT THE LAW ALLOWS, WE WON'T BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY LOSS OF DATA, PROFITS OR BUSINESS OPPORTUNITIES, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE APP. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ABOUT THE APP WON'T EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID FOR IT IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM, OR US$50 IF YOU PAID NOTHING. Some places don't allow these limits, so they may not all apply to you.

13. Indemnity

To the extent the law allows, you agree to defend and hold us harmless from claims that arise from your content or from your breaking these terms.

14. General

If part of these terms can't be enforced, the rest still applies. If we don't enforce a term right away, we haven't given up the right to enforce it later. You may not transfer these terms to anyone else without our consent. These terms and the Privacy Policy are the whole agreement between you and us about the app.

15. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. When we do, we'll change the effective date at the top of this page. Continuing to use the app after a change means you accept the updated terms.
